Robert Clifford

Dr Robert Clifford was the pen name of a retired GP who wrote scores of books, including his bestselling series of doctor anecdotes, which were serialised in The Sunday Express and Family Circle.

Dr Clifford was also a regular guest on radio programmes, including BBC Radio 4’s Today and Start the Week, and on the Gloria Hunniford programme, and for Radio Devon’s Judi Spiers. He appeared on television in the UK and US, and was the resident doctor for Westward Diary, on Westward Television in the 1960s and 70s.

Among his many positions in writing organisations, he was the vice-president of The West Country Writers’ Association.
